We are obsessed with Bluey in this house, especially my little girl Gigi! When thinking of a theme for her 3rd birthday, Bluey was an easy choice!

I love making my daughter's birthdays extra special but always on a budget! If you would like more tips and ideas check out these posts:

Easy Birthday Party Ideas – in this post I go into specific details on how I organize myself, plan, budget, shop, and prep.

Decorations

If you’ve seen my previous party décor blog posts, you know I like to buy party kits instead of buying everything individually which can be pricey. Party City has this Bluey Tableware Kit for 8 Guests that includes a banner, balloons, photo props, cups, napkins, table cover, and plates.

I found the colorful cutlery set and cake server at Walmart, and the straws at Dollar Tree.

A great tip I have when decorating a kid’s birthday party is using their toys! I’ve done it for both my Blue’s Clues and Super Mario themes.

I like to do a mixture of both large and small toys, and my girls always go crazy with their toys used as part of the decoration.

Outfit

I was so excited when I found this adorable Bluey dress. It’s very cute and comfortable, my daughter didn’t want to take it off!

I paired it with white tights, white flats, and a sparkly headband, all from Target.

Cake

I made a small 5-tier ombre cake decorated with rainbow sprinkles and polka dot candles from Dollar Tree, and a Bluey candle I found at Party City.

To make the ombre cake I used this Wilton layer cake pan set from Amazon.

To save time I used a cake mix and store-bought icing. With the batter I had left I made mini cupcakes decorated with sprinkles.

Sweets

I made chocolate-covered Oreos and number 3 chocolate lollipops. I always use this cylinder candy mold to make chocolate-covered Oreos. It works great and the Oreos are easy to remove. I bought the number 3 at a craft store many years ago, but I found this number 3 mold from Amazon. I’ve ordered other molds from that company and they were great.

Treat bags

Instead of treat bags, I decided to use Bluey cups covered in cello wrap. Inside I put candy, stickers, a little purse, and rings. I always look around Dollar Tree to see what little party favors I find. Walmart and Party City also have great options.
